GOLDEN GATE PARK SEGWAY

Do it--you can't go wrong! We arrived, and Charlie got us hooked up with helmets and even gloves/rain jackets if you need them. We watched a brief video and then our lesson began. After 5-10 minutes, we had it down (two adults and two 13-year olds). Maps are provided, but Charlie also goes over some route options ahead of time. This helped us a lot due to a special event in GG Park (some areas were closed). We had so much fun on the segways--especially riding along the beach sidewalk. I was worried we would like like idiots, and we probably did, but this was so much fun (and now we all want one). Would def go back to Golden Gate Park Segway!

This is a really great spot to rent Segway’s in SF! Especially if you wanna ride them in the Golden Gate Park or along the beach boardwalk. The owner is very helpful. He shows you a safety video and then lets you try the Segway in store. He also gives some pointers on how to ride it. This is great so to find out if you can ride a segway before paying for the rental. The Segway’s come with everything you need (attach bag, map, etc). The helmet is also included in the rental. Payment: If you pay with cash you don’t have to pay tax, so if you can I would bring cash Parking: We parked at the Golden Gate Park and walked over, but there’s also street parking right outside (2 hr limit on weekdays I believe)

I had a great time riding these with my family! We took a little class, safe instructions and then a few hours of great sightseeing and fun! Totally recommended!

Every time I come to SF I rent from Charlie at Golden Gate Park Segways. So many people think that one needs a guided tour. I have a much better time on my own on the Segway! I’ve taken guided tours in other areas of town, but in Golden Gate Park you really do not need a guide. If you can use your iPhone just a bit and follow a simple path, you will have a great day! I might even go a second time before I leave beautiful San Francisco. Definitely worth calling and renting your Segway for a great day in Golden Gate Park with this company! Be warned, from the companies that require a guide, you often don’t know until the day of the tour if the group will “make“ or not. If there are not enough people in the group, the company will cancel and refund your money, but then you lost your shot at riding a Segway in San Francisco. When you rent from Charlie, since there is no need for a guide, it’s very easy and very unlikely that you will miss the opportunity to ride a Segway through beautiful Golden Gate Park! I cannot even skate, and I feel like a pro in the Segway. I hope this review helps travelers to have a nice time as I have had.

I had a great experience touring Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, and the Lands End lookout point over 2 and a half hours. Note that these tours are self-guided. Charlie will walk you through how to use a Segway, deal with climbing and descending hills, and show you a map of Golden Gate Park so you hit a lot of notable sights.

Very fun way to see the park. Charlie was great and made sure we knew what we were doing on the Segways before he turned us loose.

Took the Golden Gate Park Tour. Our tour guide Devin, was attentive, knowledgeable and corny😁. Would highly recommend. Great experience from start to finish.
