Provide such a needed service; I wish them great prosperity to continue their very appreciated work. I am such a believer in adoption of pets and giving these fur babies a chance at finding good new families. VVHS also has affordable pet accessories; it's fun to shop for my rescues there..

Two years ago our 11-year dog died of cancer after a long, hard fight, leaving my husband and me and our 10-year old dog grieving. I saw a photo of a dog at the Human Society on FB, we went for a "meet and greet," fostered and then adopted him. He's a great dog, smart, obedient, friendly. Our older dog passed away four months ago, and we were not planning on a second dog, BUT went to the Humane Society with the dog we had fostered. Christine understood what we were looking for, introduced to us to a litter, our dog thought it was great to see the puppies - and he sort of picked ibe which we adopted. We are grateful and thankful to the Humane Society for finding two PERFECT puppies for us! We were always treated with respect, greeted with smiles, everything was explained, the new puppy has settled in. Volunteers came over to meet us and say "good-bye" to the puppy. Exceptional people, all of them.

I have adopted from them in the past few years. But when I went last time I think it was new staff, they seemed weird. Not very friendly. Borderline condescending, especially about setting up an appointment. They also didn't allow me to meet the dog I was interested in and instead tried to push another one onto me.

Horrible people! I looked on the website picked out a dog that I knew was just right for me. I was never allowed to meet that dog. I was only allowed two appointments with an adoption coordinator? People come here to look at dogs pick out one and they make eye contact with and connect with, and they take them home. This is horrible… You are not encouraging people in the community to adopt these poor animals.

+JMJ...This is a WONDERFUL shelter!! Staff and volunteers are very friendly and have a deep devotion and dedication to the animals housed in the shelter. UPDATE: Saturday, 8 October 2022. Stopped by to make videos. Too early to be allowed into facility. But, very happy to see two dog walker volunteers. These are some compassionate, happy people. Also, peeking into facility, I could see they have a number of carriers and pet bedding for sell. I will return soon to make purchases. Blessings to all animal rescuers.

We adopted our wonderful Husky from VV Humane Society a couple years ago and had a great experience. We've been in a couple times since bringing in strays and have always found them to be courteous, helpful and caring towards the animals. It's probably not easy running a place like this with all the uncertainty of staffing, both hires and volunteers, erratic funding from donations and all the random animals that come in. They do an excellent job, especially considering all these operational challenges. Not sure how anyone could give this place a poor rating.

A member of my family tried dropping off abandoned stray kittens (they’re allergic to cats) then the humane society posted on social media that they had abandoned the kittens after the society turned them away claiming to not take strays.
